Stop Being Vague
Ok so I realized recently that I have a terrible habit. I walk on eggshells when something irritates me. I try to be polite about it. I avoid saying too much. And yeah, I know I’m not the only one. Some people would rather silently hold a grudge for months than just say what’s on their mind.
Am I being vague right now? Yeah, definitely. But now you know why. You’re welcome.
The title Stop Being Vague came from a brief moment where I got mad at myself for how indirect my last blog was. I was trying to express a real frustration without offending anyone because, truthfully, I care about the people involved. I value those connections enough to not go off. But here’s the thing: when you’re vague to protect the relationship, you end up protecting the problem too.
Still, if you’re gonna be vague, at least be honest with yourself. Get specific in your own head. Talk it through. Journal it. Think about it while you’re fake-listening to someone’s weekend recap. Do what you need to do. Just don’t let resentment pile up like you’re collecting emotional clutter for a garage sale that’s never gonna happen.
So here’s me not being vague anymore. I have an idea. Actually, I have a solution to the whole “why does this always feel so unbalanced” thing. I want to build something real. A business that supports emerging artists. Not just by giving them space to show their work, but by actually helping them grow. I’m talking materials, lessons, mentorship, guidance, and real connections — to galleries, restaurants, buyers, even celebrities. And no gatekeeping. I want it to be affordable, low-key, maybe even subscription-based, but the kind where it feels like you’re getting away with something.
If you’ve made it this far through my maze of half-clarity and full intentions, thank you. And now I ask: What would you add? What does your dream support system look like as an artist, or for the artists you love? Help me build something better. Let’s stop being vague and grow together.
